Breaking Superstars News: Leaders Are Backed With Bases.

February 10, 2010

Check this out. In a brilliant design decision, the developers of the Marvel Superstars Trading Card Game have revealed their solution for easily keeping Leader characters and Base Resources from getting mixed with your main deck.

They are front and back on the same card!

We do not know which bases will back which leaders, but we are ready to play!

  1. That’s a spicy Elektra. Two charges look easy to come by, especially with Tony Stark businessman around.

  2. Based on this info (13 commons, 4 uncommons, 1 leader per pack), Leaders will be ‘almost uncommon’ rarity, never mind the ‘C’ printed on the cards.

There are 15 leaders. So in every 15 packs, you will (on average) get 1 of each leader. Even if there are only, say, 76 rares + super rares + resource cards, that only leaves 262-76-15=171 cards left to be common or uncommon. If there are 91 commons, and 80 uncommons, then since there are it takes 91/13= 7 packs to average 1 of each common, and 80/4= 20 packs to average 1 of each uncommon, the leaders are notably closer to being uncommon than common. In 30 packs, you might get around: 4.3 of each common, 2 of each leader, and 1.5 of each uncommon. And that’s with the very low estimate of rares. Leader rarity only gets closer to Uncommon with a higher estimate of rares.

  3. Thanks Robert, those are some very chewy numbers indeed!
